Extremely pleased with the results of my procedure. Dr Laskey is highly skilled, professional and takes a perfectionist approach to his work.
I been under David's care now for many years, and I have great admiration for his skill.. He is a very understanding, talented, kind and gentle man. I was brought up in the era of scary dentistry and David makes all my visits very comfortable, non threatening and relatively painless, which is such a blessing for me. He is extremely thorough and explains every procedure in great detail, and allows me to make any final decisions on all that needs to be done. I have great respect for his amazing ability to create something lovely out of a very large challenge. For which I might say, I am very grateful.Nurse Brodie, his very able assistant, is also a very kind, gentle and extremely capable nurse and they work extremely well together. It is so nice to be put at ease from the moment you arrive until you leave, even after very long sessions in the chair. They both always greet you with a smile and interest in you, as a person, which I find very rare and very nice. You are in fabulous hands, for whatever procedure you go in for and the outcomes are amazing. I am loving my new looking teeth..Thankyou David and Brodie for making this journey as pleasurable as it could be.Mares Lindner

Dr David Laskey is an expert prosthodontist who is professional and extremely personable. He explains all the dental procedures and has a very reassuring nature. I have been seeing David for 12 years and during this time he has always gone over and above to ensure I have had the best dental care and service. As someone who was always nervous about going to the dentist, I can highly recommend him to provide excellent treatment and a calm experience. Brodie and all of David's dental nurses have always been lovely and accomodating.

FAQs

What is prosthodontics?

Prosthodontics is a formally recognised specialist branch of dentistry dedicated to the design, manufacture, and fitting of artificial replacements for teeth and other parts of the mouth. Common prosthodontic treatments include dentures, dental implants, crowns and bridges. Once they have graduated from dental school, a prosthodontist receives three extra years of training in their chosen field.

Prosthodontists are trained in the field of crown and bridgework, veneers, implant reconstruction, denture work, occlusion, temporomandibular joint function and complex full-mouth oral rehabilitation.

Why do I need to see a prosthodontist?

All dentists are trained in making crowns, bridges, and partial and complete dentures, so why would you need to see a prosthodontist? Prosthodontists are experts in their field. With an additional three years of training, they are much more equipped than your regular dentist to replace anything in your mouth.

Prosthodontists have a specialised skill set to treat, plan, diagnose and manage intricate dental problems. They frequently work in a multi-disciplinary environment with other specialists and are skilled in biomaterials, biomechanics, function and aesthetics.

Do I need a referral?

Patients are often referred to us by their general dental practitioner. A referral gives us a much better understanding of your oral history and any problems you’ve had previously, including how they were managed. Alongside your history, be sure to bring in any past x-rays, exam results or other relevant material for your prosthodontist to discuss.

Can you provide me with some more information about Mornington Prosthodontics’ advanced technology?

What happens after a consultation?

After your initial consultation, you will receive a detailed treatment plan and quote tailored to your specific needs. If further steps are required in the diagnostic and treatment planning process, Dr Laskey will explain each stage and answer any questions you may have. We offer all our patients a second no-fee consultation if you have any questions about their proposed treatment options.
